💡 Why I Developed Cribr & The Vision

Finding roommate shares and flats in cities is stressful, messy, and dominated by greedy middlemen. High security deposits combined with astronomical broker fees (often 10% to 15% of the annual rent just for opening a door!) make shifting housing extremely inaccessible for students and young professionals.

My vision was to create a platform where people can connect directly, match their daily lifestyle habits (cleanliness, smoking, social levels), find verified roommates, and explore flat locations transparently using Leaflet maps. Most importantly, Cribr is built to remain strictly broker-free and commission-free.

👥 The Team

Currently, the team consists of just me! I am the sole creator, designer, backend developer, and system administrator. I handle everything from writing Python/Django and CSS to managing database migrations, security patches, and deployment.

💸 Funding & Billing Transparency

Cribr is a self-funded labor of love. There is no external funding, venture capital backing, or corporate sponsorship.

All operational costs—including server hosting (AWS/Cloud), domain name registration, database backups, email routing services, and future infrastructure expansion—are incurred by me personally. I believe that providing a safe, broker-free space to find co-living shouldn't require extracting high subscription fees or selling user data.
